Cyclone Amphan claims 133 lives and 15bn dollar loss

Governments estimated that nearly three million homes were damaged or destroyed, along with significant damage to agriculture and infrastructure. Economic losses were expected to surpass INR 1.0 trillion (USD 13.5 billion) in West Bengal, India, and BDT 127 billion (USD 1.5 billion) in Bangladesh, with much of the damage uninsured.
